Charleston, SC (January 4, 2026) – Emergency medical teams responded to a crash with injuries Saturday afternoon along Glenn McConnell Parkway, where a young woman sustained a head injury and was transported to a local hospital.
At approximately 1:59 p.m., emergency units were dispatched to the scene of a vehicle accident involving a single driver along Glenn McConnell Parkway in West Ashley. Medic 9 responded and located a 21-year-old woman who was the restrained driver of one of the vehicles involved in the crash.
Paramedics reported that the driver was alert and walking at the scene but complained of head pain. She sustained a facial contusion and light bleeding to her forehead. Despite the injuries, she denied any loss of consciousness and remained stable during evaluation. She was transported for further treatment and monitoring at a nearby hospital.
No other vehicles or injuries were confirmed at the time of the report. Authorities are continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash.
