What Factors Can Lead to Two-Vehicle Crashes on Rural Highways?
Two-vehicle crashes on highways often happen near intersections, roundabouts, or access points where traffic patterns shift. Drivers may misjudge speed or distance when entering or crossing a main roadway.
Blocked lanes can quickly cause backups, especially on routes that serve as key connectors between counties. When vehicles are heavily damaged, removing them safely can take time.
Injury severity may depend on impact angle and whether occupants are trapped. Emergency crews sometimes need to remove doors or other parts of a vehicle to reach those inside after a serious collision.
