Clifton, NJ (April 13, 2026) – A tractor-trailer crash caused significant damage and injuries early on Monday morning in Clifton.
The incident occurred just before 2:30 a.m. near Kensington Ave and Route 3, where a large truck veered off the roadway and crashed into a commercial building.
Authorities say the truck struck a local business, causing structural damage and sending debris falling from the building.
Emergency crews responded quickly and worked to rescue individuals affected by the crash. One person inside the building was trapped upstairs, while the truck driver was pinned inside the cab for about an hour before being freed.
First responders remained on scene to assess the building’s structural stability, which appeared to be leaning following the impact.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation, and additional details may be released as they become available.
We are thinking of those injured and wish them a full recovery.
What Makes Crashes Involving Buildings Especially Dangerous
When vehicles leave the roadway and strike structures, the risk extends beyond those inside the vehicle.
Building occupants may also be injured, and structural damage can create additional hazards.
These incidents often require complex rescue efforts and safety evaluations before the area can be secured.
