Columbia, SC (January 18, 2026) – A two-vehicle collision resulted in multiple injuries early Friday morning near the intersection of North Beltline Boulevard and Belmont Drive in Columbia. The crash occurred around 5:00 a.m. on January 17 and temporarily blocked two lanes of traffic.
Emergency responders, including Ladder Nine and Rescue One, arrived on scene and confirmed a two-car accident with at least four potential patients. EMS crews began medical evaluations and transported at least one individual from the scene. The conditions of the others involved have not been publicly disclosed.
Rescue and fire crews coordinated traffic control while assisting the injured and clearing the vehicles from the roadway. The scene was eventually turned over to EMS for transport, and command operations were terminated after stabilization efforts were complete.
Authorities are investigating the cause of the crash and have not yet released further details on the sequence of events or contributing factors.
