What Makes Nighttime Motorcycle Crashes on Dallas Freeways So Deadly?
Nighttime motorcycle crashes on Dallas freeways tend to be more severe than those that happen during daylight hours. Reduced visibility makes it harder for both riders and other drivers to react in time, and the consequences of striking a fixed object or barrier at freeway speeds are often fatal.
When a rider goes down on a freeway, the danger does not end with the initial impact. Other vehicles traveling at high speed may have little time to avoid a person or a bike lying in the road, which is why secondary strikes are a known and serious risk in these situations.
Texas freeways near major interchanges like I-635 carry heavy traffic even late at night. The combination of speed, volume, and limited lighting creates conditions where a single mistake can quickly turn fatal for a motorcyclist.
