Danby, VT (January 20, 2026) – Emergency crews responded Monday morning to a serious industrial accident at a quarry facility on Quarry Hill Rd in Danby after a large slab of marble reportedly fell on a worker.
The incident occurred around 11:23 a.m. at 886 Quarry Hill Rd. According to emergency radio updates, the victim suffered severe injuries and required immediate medical attention. A LifeNet medical helicopter was dispatched and arrived at the landing zone to await EMS transport.
First responders worked to safely extricate and stabilize the injured individual before preparing them for airlift. The nature of the injuries has been described as critical, though no further information regarding the worker’s identity or current condition has been released.
