Tampa, FL (August 30, 2026) – A 48-year-old Tampa man was killed early Friday morning, August 28, after being struck by a tractor-trailer while crossing US-41. The collision happened around 3:15 a.m. north of 12th Avenue South.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol, a 54-year-old Riverview man was driving a semi-truck south on US-41 when the pedestrian entered the roadway. Troopers said the pedestrian stepped into the truck’s path. The pedestrian suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.
Authorities had not released the names of the pedestrian or truck driver. The available report did not provide additional information about the circumstances leading up to the collision. Our sympathy goes out to the family and loved ones of the deceased.
