Decatur, AL (January 8, 2026) – A violent crash involving an 18-wheeler and two other vehicles occurred Tuesday afternoon near the intersection of Point Mallard Parkway and Country Club Road SE in Decatur, leaving at least one person with serious injuries after being ejected from a vehicle.
The crash was reported at approximately 12:51 p.m., prompting a rapid multi-agency response. According to initial dispatch information, one person was found lying in the roadway after being ejected during the impact. Emergency medical services were requested to respond urgently as first responders worked to stabilize the chaotic scene.
The collision involved a semi-truck and two additional passenger vehicles. The force of the crash scattered debris and caused significant damage to at least one of the cars. First responders from Decatur Police, Decatur Fire and Rescue, and Decatur Morgan EMS worked together to assist the injured and manage traffic through the busy intersection near Point Mallard.
Medics treated the ejected victim at the scene and transported them for advanced medical care. The extent of the injuries sustained has not been officially released, though early reports suggested serious trauma. Additional individuals may have also been evaluated on-site.
