Dunkirk, NY (January 21, 2026) – One individual has died following a tragic train-involved accident that occurred on Tuesday afternoon in the city of Dunkirk, according to local authorities.
The Dunkirk Police Department confirmed that officers responded to the scene around 1:30 p.m. after receiving reports of a vehicle being struck by a train near Middle Rd. Emergency medical personnel arrived shortly after the collision and transported the driver of the vehicle to Brooks Memorial Hospital for urgent care.
Despite the efforts of hospital staff, the victim was later pronounced deceased. The individual’s name has not yet been released, pending notification of next of kin.
