What Factors Can Lead to Vehicles Entering the Path of Oncoming Traffic?
Crashes in which a vehicle enters the path of another vehicle often occur at intersections or at rural road crossings. These situations can happen when a driver misjudges the speed or distance of approaching traffic.
Visibility can also influence these incidents. Trees, curves, or roadside objects may block a clear view of oncoming vehicles, making it harder to determine when it is safe to proceed.
Driver timing and decision-making are key elements. Entering a roadway without enough space can lead to a collision, especially when the other vehicle is traveling at a steady speed.
