Why Rural Intersection Crashes Often Lead to Injuries
Crashes at rural intersections can occur when drivers misjudge right-of-way, speed, or the distance of oncoming traffic. These roadways may also have limited visibility due to trees, curves, or terrain, making it harder to see approaching vehicles in time.
Areas like Resica Falls Road and Oak Grove Drive in Monroe County often see local traffic mixing with drivers unfamiliar with the area. Investigators typically examine stop compliance, roadway sightlines, and vehicle positioning to understand how these collisions happen. Even moderate-speed impacts at intersections can result in injuries, especially when vehicles strike at an angle or fail to properly yield.
