Why Are Left-Turn Collisions Especially Dangerous for Riders?
Left-turn crashes often happen when a driver turns across the path of an oncoming rider or vehicle. These situations can become dangerous when speed or distance is misjudged.
Smaller vehicles, including motorcycles and electric dirt bikes, may be harder to see in traffic. This can make it difficult for drivers to accurately judge how quickly they are approaching.
Intersections with multiple turning movements can also increase risk. Drivers and riders must make quick decisions, and even a short delay in reaction time can lead to a serious collision.
