Farmington, CT (January 21, 2026) – A serious accident requiring extrication occurred Tuesday morning at the intersection of Plainville Ave and Meadow/Morea Roads in Farmington, resulting in injuries to a woman and a brief search for a fleeing vehicle.
The crash took place around 8:30 a.m. on January 20. Emergency responders arrived to find a 40-something female trapped in her vehicle following a driver-side impact with significant intrusion. Crews worked for approximately 10 minutes to safely extricate the woman, who was then transported to St. Francis Hospital under modified trauma care protocols.
According to reports from the scene, one of the vehicles involved left the area following the crash. Thanks to detailed witness information, the fleeing vehicle was located shortly after by Connecticut State Police in Burlington, behind the post office. The operator was detained upon exiting the building and is awaiting further action from the Farmington Police Department.
The circumstances surrounding the crash, including the reason for the hit-and-run, are under investigation by authorities.
