Toledo, OH (July 5, 2026) – Two people were killed, and another was critically injured in a head-on collision early on Friday morning on Airport Highway in Toledo.
According to the Toledo Police Department, the crash occurred shortly after 1:30 a.m. on July 3 on Airport Highway just east of South Reynolds Road.
Preliminary investigators said one vehicle crossed the center line and collided head-on with an oncoming vehicle. The driver of the eastbound vehicle was pronounced dead at the scene. A passenger in that vehicle sustained critical injuries and was transported to a local hospital for emergency treatment.
The police said the driver of the vehicle that crossed the center line also died as a result of the crash. Authorities have not yet released the identities of the victims pending notification of their families. The Toledo Police Department continues to investigate the circumstances surrounding the fatal collision.
