Middletown, NJ (July 5, 2026) – Four people, including a 13-month-old child, suffered minor injuries after a two-vehicle crash caused one car to catch fire on Friday afternoon in Middletown.
According to the Middletown Township Police Department, officers responded at approximately 12:23 p.m. on Friday, July 3, to the intersection of Newman Springs Road and Half Mile Road in the Lincroft section of the township following reports of a two-vehicle collision.
Callers told dispatchers that one of the vehicles had caught fire. When officers arrived, they found flames coming from the vehicle’s engine compartment. Officials said the driver and a 13-month-old child were able to safely exit the vehicle before the fire spread.
The Middletown Township Fire Department responded and quickly extinguished the fire without further incident.
Authorities said a total of four people sustained minor injuries in the crash. Middletown Township Emergency Medical Services treated the victims at the scene before transporting them to area hospitals. Three patients were taken to Riverview Medical Center in Red Bank, while a fourth was transported to Jersey Shore University Medical Center in Neptune for additional treatment.
The police have not released the identities of those involved. The cause of the crash remains under investigation, and investigators are asking anyone who witnessed the collision or has relevant information to come forward.
