Volusia County, FL (July 14, 2026) – According to reports from the Florida Highway Patrol, a person was killed in a crash that closed northbound Interstate 95 near Indian River Boulevard in the New Smyrna Beach area early on Monday morning.
The incident was reported at about 1:30 a.m. on July 13, near the Indian River Boulevard interchange, close to mile marker 248. Emergency units remained at the scene for several hours while crews worked in the area. Northbound lanes were closed, and motorists were directed to use alternate routes during the response.
