Nassau County, FL (July 14, 2026) – The Florida Highway Patrol was called to the scene of an incident where two men were killed in a wrong-way head-on crash on Interstate 95 north of SR-200 in Nassau County early on Saturday morning.
The collision occurred at approximately 4:30 a.m. on July 11 when a sedan traveling north in the southbound lanes of Interstate 95 crashed head-on into an SUV. The sedan driver, a 39-year-old man from Jacksonville, was pronounced dead at the scene. The SUV driver, a 49-year-old man from Kingsland, Georgia, was taken to a hospital and later died from his injuries.
A third vehicle, driven by a 26-year-old St. Augustine man, struck debris from the crash while taking evasive action, but the driver was not injured. The SUV overturned and came to rest on the shoulder.
