Fort Worth, TX (April 16, 2026) – Two people were killed, and a firefighter was hospitalized following a crash involving a vehicle containing an unknown chemical in Fort Worth.
According to Fort Worth police, the incident occurred just before 11:30 a.m. in the 1900 block of Delga Street near the North Freeway frontage road.
Authorities say a black van struck a parked vehicle and came to a stop less than a block away. When officers arrived, one person inside the van was already deceased. First responders attempted to provide aid to the driver, but he also died at the scene.
During the response, officials discovered a large amount of an unknown chemical inside the van. One firefighter was exposed to the substance and was transported to a hospital for treatment. Emergency crews secured the area as authorities worked to assess the situation and ensure public safety.
The identities of the victims have not yet been released, pending notification by the Tarrant County Medical Examiner. The incident remains under investigation as officials work to determine the nature of the chemical and the cause of death.
