Franklin, TN (January 14, 2026) – A serious multi-vehicle collision led to injuries and the temporary closure of Interstate 65 North on Tuesday afternoon near Mile Marker 61, just beyond the I-840 interchange.
The crash occurred on January 13 and resulted in significant traffic disruption as emergency crews and the Tennessee Department of Transportation (TDOT) worked to manage the scene. Initially, all northbound lanes were shut down, prompting TDOT to implement a detour at I-840 to help redirect traffic away from the affected area.
Franklin Police later confirmed that three of the four lanes had reopened as of early afternoon, though full clearance of the scene was projected for around 4:00 p.m. Crews remained on site to assist the injured, remove debris, and restore safe driving conditions.
The exact number of vehicles involved and the cause of the crash have not been released. Authorities continue to investigate the incident to determine what led to the collision.
Our thoughts are with those injured, and we wish them a full recovery following this serious accident.
