Gadsden, AL (January 1, 2026) – A fatal fire broke out in Gadsden on New Year’s Eve, claiming the life of one man. Firefighters with the Gadsden Fire Department responded to the 2900 block of Sahan Ave at approximately 4:50 p.m. on Wednesday after reports of a structure fire in the area.
Upon arrival, crews observed visible smoke and quickly made entry into the residence. Within minutes of entering, firefighters located a deceased male inside the home. The blaze was extinguished swiftly, preventing further damage to the surrounding property.
Officials have not yet released the identity of the victim. The cause of the fire is currently under investigation by local authorities. No additional injuries were reported at the scene.
