Glendale, AZ (January 12, 2026) – A man was left in critical condition following a serious bicycle accident on Sunday afternoon near the intersection of 59th Avenue and Union Hills Drive in Glendale.
Glendale police responded to the scene shortly after 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, January 11, after receiving reports that a vehicle had struck a cyclist in the intersection. When officers arrived, they discovered a man in his 60s suffering from life-threatening injuries. He was unconscious at the scene and was immediately transported to a nearby hospital for emergency care.
Authorities stated that the man had been riding his bicycle through the intersection when the collision occurred. The driver involved remained at the scene and cooperated with police during the initial investigation. At this time, it remains unclear whether impairment or speed contributed to the crash, and no charges have been reported.
