Hammond, IN (January 7, 2026) – A crash near the intersection of Elm Ave and Chicago St in Hammond left one person with reported injuries on the afternoon of January 6. The incident occurred around 2:11 p.m. and involved at least one vehicle. Emergency crews and police responded to the scene shortly after the crash was reported.
According to dispatch information, a 24-year-old individual involved in the collision complained of chest pain following the impact. Medical personnel were alerted to the injury, though it is unclear whether the individual was transported for further treatment. The extent of damage to the vehicles has not been released.
