Harris County, TX (January 20, 2026) – A fiery wrong-way crash claimed the life of a young driver and left another person hospitalized early Monday morning on the Tomball Parkway, according to the Harris County Sheriff’s Office.
Authorities say the collision occurred just after 1:30 a.m. when a driver identified as 25-year-old Julio Alberto Calero Ramirez was traveling in the wrong direction along the parkway. He struck another vehicle head-on, triggering a fire that consumed both vehicles.
Ramirez was pronounced dead at the scene. The other driver was injured and transported to a local hospital for medical care. Their current condition has not yet been made public.
Sheriff’s deputies are investigating the circumstances that led to the wrong-way travel, including whether impairment or visibility played a role.
