What Causes Rollover Crashes at Rural Intersections?
Intersections like 271st Street and Southeastern Avenue often connect rural routes with varying traffic patterns. In areas near Harrisburg, responders may work to manage traffic carefully after crashes.
Rollover crashes can happen when a vehicle is struck at an angle, causing it to tip or lose balance. Sudden impacts, especially near intersections, can shift a vehicle’s weight quickly and lead to overturning.
Stop sign violations are a common factor in these types of collisions. When drivers fail to stop or misjudge oncoming traffic, the resulting impact can increase the risk of a rollover, particularly for taller vehicles like sport utility vehicles.
