How Head-on Collisions Involving Large Trucks Are Handled
Head-on crashes involving semi trucks often require an extended emergency response due to the severity of the impact and the potential for entrapment. In many cases, specialized rescue tools are needed to safely remove occupants from damaged vehicles.
Medical helicopters are sometimes requested when injuries are serious and rapid transport is needed. Highway closures are also common during these incidents to allow safe access for responders and to clear debris from the roadway. Investigators typically review vehicle positions, road conditions, and timing to determine how the crash occurred.
