What Makes Ejection Crashes Especially Dangerous?
Crashes involving ejection are often among the most severe types of traffic incidents. When a person is thrown from a vehicle during a collision, they lose the protection offered by the vehicle’s structure, seat belts, and airbags. This significantly increases the risk of serious or life-threatening injuries.
Ejections can occur during high-impact crashes, rollovers, or when occupants are not properly restrained. Even in multi-vehicle crashes at moderate speeds, the force of impact can be enough to eject someone if safety measures are not in place.
Wearing a seat belt is one of the most effective ways to prevent ejection and reduce injury severity. In complex crashes involving multiple vehicles, the risk of unpredictable movement and secondary impacts further increases the danger, making proper restraint use critical for safety.
