What Factors Can Affect Motorcycle Safety on City Streets?
Mixed-use streets like College Avenue and 33rd Street may involve varied speeds and traffic types. In Indianapolis, responders often adjust traffic patterns during responses to keep the area safe.
Motorcycles can be harder to see among larger vehicles, especially in areas with steady traffic flow. Lane positioning, turning movements, and traffic signals can all influence how vehicles interact.
Urban roadways often include frequent intersections and changing traffic conditions. Visibility, timing, and driver awareness all play a role in how these crashes occur and how severe they become.
