What Investigators Often Review After Pursuit-Related Crashes
Crashes involving attempted traffic stops are typically reviewed in detail to establish the sequence of events leading up to the collision. Investigators often examine vehicle speed, roadway conditions, and driver actions leading up to the crash.
Urban nighttime crashes can also involve visibility concerns, traffic patterns, and intersection activity. Evidence from vehicle damage, roadway markings, and surveillance footage might help reconstruct how the collision developed.
When serious injuries or fatalities occur, investigators usually document the timeline of the pursuit and the final crash location carefully. These reviews help determine how the vehicle lost control or became involved in the fatal incident.
