Why Rear-End Crashes with Large Trucks Can Be Severe
Rear-end crashes involving large trucks can result in serious outcomes due to the difference in size and structure between vehicles. When a smaller vehicle strikes the rear of a trailer, the impact can affect occupants more severely, especially in the front seats.
Traffic slowdowns or stopped vehicles on highways can increase the risk of these collisions. Drivers may have limited time to react, particularly in heavy traffic conditions.
Seat belt use can also influence injury outcomes in crashes. Proper restraints can help reduce movement inside the vehicle during impact, which may lower the risk of severe injury in certain situations.
