Why Intersection Crashes Often Lead to Road Closures
Intersection crashes frequently disrupt traffic because vehicles may come to rest in active travel lanes. When this happens, even minor injuries or non-transport situations can still require full lane closures for safety.
Airbag deployment is common in moderate-impact collisions and can help reduce injury severity, though drivers and passengers may still experience soreness or discomfort afterward.
Traffic control is typically used to redirect vehicles around the scene while emergency crews assess damage and remove debris. Investigators also review signal timing, right-of-way, and vehicle movement to determine how the crash occurred.
