The incident occurred around 11:39 p.m. in the parking lot of the Clover Island Inn, where police and emergency crews responded to reports of a vehicle striking a pedestrian.
According to initial reports, a male driver in a silver Chevrolet sedan struck a woman in her early 20s. The victim remained conscious and alert but sustained injuries to her leg and hip. She was treated at the scene by medics.
Authorities say the driver attempted to leave the area but was quickly located by officers and taken into custody without incident.
Investigators believe the driver and the victim may know each other. The case is being investigated as a hit-and-run and possible DUI-related incident, with potential charges including vehicular assault.
