How Road Debris Can Lead to Sudden Highway Incidents
Objects on highways can become dangerous when they are not properly secured to vehicles. Items such as trailer hitches or loose cargo may fall or be thrown into traffic, creating unexpected hazards for other drivers.
When debris becomes airborne, it can strike vehicles with significant force, especially at highway speeds. Windshields may shatter on impact, increasing the risk of injury from both the object and broken glass.
These incidents often happen without warning, leaving little time for drivers to react. Visibility, traffic speed, and following distance can all influence the severity of the outcome when debris enters the roadway.
