How Crossing Outside Marked Areas Can Increase Pedestrian Risk
Roads like Lucerne Avenue often carry steady traffic, especially in areas near waterfront access and neighborhoods. When a serious crash occurs in Lake Worth Beach, crews typically work to secure the scene and manage traffic flow.
Crossing outside of marked crosswalks can increase the risk of a crash, as drivers may not expect pedestrians in those areas. Visibility, lighting, and vehicle speed all affect how quickly a driver can react.
At night, these risks can be higher due to reduced visibility. Pedestrian safety often depends on clear crossing points, driver awareness, and timing when entering busy roadways.
