Fort Lauderdale, FL (March 25, 2026) – Three people were injured in a crash involving two cars and a fire rescue truck early on Wednesday, March 25, in Fort Lauderdale. The collision happened around 4:15 a.m. at Broward Boulevard and Northwest Seventh Avenue.
According to reports, a white BMW was traveling along Northwest Seventh Avenue with a green light when a black Audi moving on Broward Boulevard entered the intersection and struck it. The impact caused the BMW to spin and hit a fire rescue truck that was waiting to turn.
Emergency units at the scene quickly began assisting the victims. The driver of the BMW had to be removed from the vehicle, and three people were taken to Broward Health Medical Center. Officials said the BMW driver is in grave condition, while a passenger in the Audi remains in intensive care but is stable. The Audi driver was treated and later released.
The crash led to the closure of Broward Boulevard between Northwest Seventh and Ninth avenues for several hours before reopening. No firefighters were injured. The crash remains under investigation.
Our thoughts are with those affected as they continue to recover.
Why Intersection Collisions Can Lead to Severe Injuries
Intersections like Broward Boulevard and Northwest Seventh Avenue often carry steady traffic from multiple directions. When a serious crash occurs in Fort Lauderdale, responders may restrict lanes while assisting those involved.
Crashes caused by failure to obey traffic signals can lead to high-impact collisions, especially when vehicles cross paths at speed. Side-impact crashes can cause significant damage and increase the risk of serious injuries.
The presence of additional vehicles, such as emergency trucks, can add complexity if they are struck after the initial impact. Road layout, timing of signals, and driver attention all influence how safely traffic moves through busy intersections.
