What Is Reviewed After a Head-On Collision?
Head-on crashes are among the most serious roadway collisions because both vehicles are often traveling at high speeds before contact occurs. After these crashes, investigators commonly review lane positioning, vehicle movement, roadway markings, and driver actions leading up to the moment of contact. Mechanical problems, visibility, and traffic flow may also be examined.
Medical findings can also help clarify how severe the harm was for the people involved. Damage patterns on each vehicle often provide additional insight into how the chain of events unfolded. In some cases, witness accounts and surveillance footage can help piece together the timeline. Early reports may contain only limited facts, while additional findings are often released later as more evidence becomes available.
