How Police Pursuits Can Increase Risks on Highways
Police pursuits can create dangerous conditions for officers and other drivers alike. High speeds and sudden maneuvers can increase the likelihood of secondary crashes.
Even after a suspect is stopped, the scene can remain hazardous due to ongoing traffic and emergency activity. Officers working roadside are especially vulnerable during these moments.
Drivers are encouraged to slow down and remain alert when approaching emergency scenes to help prevent additional injuries.
