Traffic Hazards After Fatal Truck Crashes
Truck crashes on major roads can cause long delays because large vehicles may block several lanes. If a crash happens during the morning commute, traffic can slow quickly in both the immediate area and nearby routes.
Rear-end truck crashes can be especially severe due to vehicle size and weight. The force of impact may cause heavy damage, even when the crash involves vehicles traveling in the same direction.
Roadway closures after a fatal crash help create space for emergency units, cleanup crews, and damaged vehicle removal. Debris, fuel spills, and blocked travel lanes can make it unsafe for traffic to pass until the area is cleared.
