Why Intersection Crashes Involving Semi-Trucks Can Be Severe
Crashes at rural highway intersections can result in serious injuries, especially when large commercial trucks are involved. Intersections like M-91 and Kendaville Rd often rely on stop signs to control cross traffic.
When a stop sign is disregarded, vehicles traveling on the main roadway may have little time to react. The size and weight of a semi-truck can greatly increase the force of impact during a collision.
Older drivers may be more vulnerable to severe injury in high-impact crashes. In serious intersection collisions, investigators typically review traffic control devices, vehicle positions, and roadway visibility to understand how the crash occurred.
