Manatee County, FL (May 23, 2026) – A motorcyclist lost their life on Thursday afternoon following a roadway collision involving a dump truck at the US-41 and I-275 interchange in Manatee County.
According to preliminary details, the fatal crash happened around 4:24 p.m. on May 21. Investigators said a dump truck was stopped in the southbound left-turn lane on US-41 near the southbound entrance ramp to I-275 when the driver attempted to turn left toward the ramp.
At the same time, a Kawasaki motorcycle was traveling north on US-41 and entered the intersection. The motorcycle then struck the right side of the truck. The rider died at the scene. The person’s identity had not yet been confirmed as of Friday.
The dump truck driver, identified as a 59-year-old man from North Port, was not hurt. Additional details about the roadway collision were not immediately available, though investigators are still working to determine vehicle speeds and traffic signal status at the time of the fatal impact.
