Failure to Yield at Intersections Can Lead to Serious Crashes
Intersections are common locations for crashes when drivers do not yield the right-of-way. Vehicles entering from side roads must judge the speed and distance of oncoming traffic before proceeding.
Misjudging this timing can place a vehicle directly in the path of another. At higher speeds, drivers on main roads may not have enough time to slow down or avoid a collision.
Clear signage and visibility are meant to help guide drivers, but attention and timing remain key factors. Even a brief mistake at a stop-controlled intersection can result in severe outcomes when vehicles collide.
