Norfolk, VA (January 24, 2026) – Emergency crews responded to a vehicle accident with reported injuries on Interstate 64 westbound near the Northampton Blvd exit in Norfolk during the late morning hours of January 23.
Engine 4, Ladder 10, and Medic 4 were dispatched to the scene after reports came in of a collision near the interstate exit. The nature and number of injuries have not been publicly confirmed, but responders indicated that emergency care was required on site. Units coordinated traffic control and medical assessment as operations unfolded on Tac channel 6.
The affected portion of I-64 experienced temporary slowdowns while responders worked to assist those involved and ensure the scene was safe for travel. It is not yet known how many vehicles were involved or what caused the crash.
Officials are continuing their investigation and urge drivers to remain alert when approaching high-traffic interchanges such as Northampton Blvd. Further updates are expected as details become available.
