What Factors Can Contribute to Multi-Vehicle Crashes on Busy Highways?
Crashes involving several vehicles often happen on high-speed roads where traffic moves closely together. A sudden stop, reduced visibility, or debris on the road can quickly lead to a chain reaction. When one driver brakes unexpectedly, others may not have enough time or space to avoid a collision.
Weather conditions can also affect how vehicles respond on the road. Rain, fog, or darkness can limit visibility and make it harder to judge distance. Even dry conditions can become risky if drivers are distracted or following too closely.
Vehicle condition is another factor. Worn brakes or tires can reduce stopping ability, especially in emergencies. Keeping a safe distance and staying alert can help reduce the chances of being involved in a multi-car crash.
