Buckingham, FL (August 28, 2026) – A Fort Myers man died after a head-on collision on Cemetery Rd near Dana Rd. The wreck happened around 6:40 p.m. on August 27.
Florida Highway Patrol said the 27-year-old was driving a 2026 Nissan Kicks west on Cemetery Rd when he crossed the center line. His SUV then struck a 2022 Chevy Suburban traveling east and driven by a 43-year-old man.
The younger driver died immediately. The other driver and passengers in both vehicles were injured and taken to hospitals for treatment.
Troopers said they are continuing to identify the passengers involved. The investigation into the fatal accident is still in progress. Our sincere condolences are with the deceased man’s family and loved ones.
