Ranson, WV (July 28, 2026) – One person died, and two others were hurt following a two-vehicle collision on the Rte 9 Bypass near the Flowing Springs Rd overpass in Ranson. The fatal accident occurred on Monday, July 27, at approximately 4:22 p.m.
Investigators said the driver of a Subaru was merging onto the eastbound Rte 9 Bypass from the East 5th Ave exit when the vehicle moved into the passing lane and was struck on the driver’s side by a Honda SUV. The Subaru driver was taken to Jefferson Medical Center with life-threatening injuries and later died.
A passenger in the Subaru and the Honda SUV driver were also taken to Jefferson Medical Center for treatment. The identity of the person who lost their life had not been released at the time of publication. The cause of the collision remains under investigation as investigators continue reviewing the circumstances.
