Ellenville, NY (July 14, 2026) – A 74-year-old woman and her dog died following a house fire at a single-family home on Baker Road in the Town of Rochester.
The fire was reported Sunday night at approximately 9:13 p.m. Emergency units found that Joanne Carelli of Ellenville remained inside the residence with her dog. After the fire was extinguished, the woman and her dog were found inside and pronounced dead.
A preliminary review did not find evidence of criminal activity. Additional details about the fire had not been made public as of this report.
