Parsonsburg, MD (February 2, 2026) – A fatal working structure fire was reported early on Sunday morning in the 32900 block of Old Ocean City Rd in Parsonsburg. The incident occurred at approximately 2:40 a.m. on February 1 and prompted a large-scale emergency response from multiple fire departments and agencies across Wicomico County and surrounding areas.
First-arriving crews reported that the structure was fully involved upon arrival. Firefighters immediately began suppression efforts while conducting search and rescue operations. Due to the severity of the fire, a second alarm was requested shortly after crews arrived, bringing additional resources to the scene.
Tragically, two individuals were pronounced deceased at the location. During the response, a firefighter sustained injuries while operating at the scene. The injured firefighter was transported by MSP Aviation Trooper 6 to Shock Trauma for advanced medical care.
Numerous departments assisted in the response, including units from Parsonsburg, Pittsville, Salisbury, Delmar, Willards, Fruitland, Hebron, and several other surrounding communities. Fire crews remained on scene for several hours to fully extinguish the fire and ensure the area was safe.
