What Drivers in Ohio Should Know About Brake Failure and Crash Liability
Brake failure is one of the mechanical issues that can lead to a serious crash, even when a driver has no warning beforehand. In Ohio, vehicle owners are responsible for keeping their cars in safe working condition, which includes regular brake maintenance. When a crash results from a mechanical defect, questions about vehicle upkeep often become part of the review process.
Crashes at busy urban intersections like those found throughout Youngstown can escalate quickly, especially when a vehicle cannot stop in time. Secondary injuries, like those that occur when someone exits a car after a collision, are not uncommon and can sometimes be more serious than the initial impact. Staying inside a vehicle until the scene is confirmed safe is generally the recommended approach after a crash.
