Phoenix, AZ (March 14, 2026) – Two people were injured after a car hauler and a pickup truck collided on a Phoenix freeway.
The accident occurred just after 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, March 12, along Interstate 17 near the 7th Street interchange. Emergency units responded following reports of a collision between the two vehicles.
According to the Arizona Department of Public Safety, initial witness accounts suggested the car hauler may have crossed all lanes of traffic before striking the pickup. However, investigators have not confirmed what caused the crash or assigned fault. No citations have been issued at this time.
Authorities continue to investigate the incident, and a full update is expected from DPS.
We are thinking of those injured as they receive medical care.
Why Freeway Collisions Can Cause Serious Injuries
Highway crashes often result in injuries due to higher vehicle speeds and the size of vehicles involved. Large trucks or car haulers, in particular, carry more momentum and can cause greater impact when colliding with smaller vehicles.
Multiple lanes and fast-moving traffic can also increase the risk of additional collisions or make it harder for drivers to avoid an incident. Witness statements, vehicle damage, and traffic data are typically reviewed to determine how crashes unfold and what safety measures may have contributed.
Because of these factors, even relatively minor collisions on freeways can lead to serious injuries and require careful investigation.
