Platte, MO (January 15, 2026) – A crash involving two vehicles resulted in injuries to one driver Wednesday morning at the intersection of Northwest 72nd St and Interstate 29 in Platte County.
The incident occurred around 8:40 a.m. when a 2024 Honda Accord, driven by a 39-year-old woman, attempted to make a left turn and crossed into the path of an oncoming 2022 Cadillac XT4. The Cadillac, traveling eastbound, struck the passenger side of the Honda, causing moderate damage to both vehicles.
Emergency crews from the Kansas City Police Department and Trooper T.R. Peoples of Troop A responded promptly, assisted by Corporal B.N. Marquart. The driver of the Honda, a Kansas City resident, suffered injuries and was taken by private vehicle to St. Luke’s North Hospital – Barry Road for evaluation and care.
Both vehicles were towed from the scene by separate recovery services. Authorities have confirmed that all occupants were wearing seatbelts at the time of the crash.
