Portland, OR (January 7, 2026) – A serious two-vehicle head-on crash left at least two people injured Tuesday afternoon in North Portland. The incident occurred around 2:44 p.m. near the intersection of N Columbia Blvd and Interstate Pl, prompting a large emergency response that included multiple ambulances and utility crews.
Fire and rescue teams arrived to find two heavily damaged vehicles with the occupants already out and moving around. Medics quickly began treating the injured parties, and both were transported for further evaluation. While their injuries were not believed to be life-threatening, the collision prompted a code three response, indicating an urgent medical situation.
In addition to the crash-related injuries, crews noted electrical issues at the scene, including a damaged transmission line and a blown breaker. Portland General Electric was requested to assess and repair the affected infrastructure.
The roadway was partially closed while responders worked to manage the scene, treat the victims, and coordinate with utility workers. No extrication was necessary, and authorities confirmed no one was trapped in the vehicles.
